Integrative Medicine's Answer to Reversing Macular Degeneration

Macular Degeneration Reversing-01What is Macular Degeneration?

There is a tiny part of the retina called the macula, and this has an extremely high concentration of cones, which are a sensory element that helps you discern extremely sharp, clear vision.

Because this area has extremely metabolic activity, it is susceptible to decrease in oxygenation, toxins, circulation, etc. Many times, you can be very healthy but begin to have problems with your central vision, and you are told you have macular degeneration.

Some of the earliest signs of macular degeneration are distortion or blurring in the central part of your vision. This is often due to accumulation of toxins or leakage of blood vessels.

A traditional ophthalmologist has a procedure in which they will put injections of different chemotherapeutic agents in your eye. These agents have the property of reducing inflammation and decreasing the vascularization of growth of blood vessels in the back of the eye.

Listen in to hear why Dr. Kondrot questions the validity of these injections.

What Eye Treatments Should Be Considered for Macular Degeneration?

In some cases, modern eye medications will improve the vision or slow the progress, but Dr. Kondrot firmly believes you’re much better off to look at alternative treatments and different methods to identify the underlying cause, which Dr. Kondrot will go into in today’s program.

Fortunately, many of the treatments we are now employing to treat macular degeneration are also helping the function of the brain. There are dietary changes, microcurrent, nutritional IVs and oxidative treatments.

Dr. Kondrot is a firm believer that a raw, organic diet is one of the best ways to support your body. He explains why he believes that our diet is probably one of the best ways to treat any disorder.

What 80-90% of Patients Are Missing

One of Dr. Kondrot’s most shocking discoveries in his eye patients was that 80 percent to 90 percent of patients he saw were deficient in zinc, even if they’re taking it as a supplement.

How can this be? Listen in as Dr. Kondrot explains.

Let’s talk about a good form of zinc. Most of the vitamin formulas out on the market are composed of zinc oxide. Zinc oxide is poorly absorbed in the body, and I would suggest you take a form of zinc called zinc picolinate, zinc citrate or zinc acetate. Any form of chelated zinc is absorbed much more readily in the body.

In addition, most people are not taking the proper amount of zinc. As we get older, our digestion and absorption changes. Even though we may be taking what we think is an adequate level of zinc, not enough is being absorbed into our bodies.

Another interesting reason why many people are deficient in zinc is the majority of the adult population are suffering from some form of heavy metal poisoning. It’s shocking.

Why Lead Is a Problem for Eye Disease

Lead is the big problem. As long as your lead is elevated, that is going to compete with the zinc in your body. The zinc, which is essential for many enzymatic reactions and good eye function, is not getting into your body because of these lead molecules. Lead is a big metal. It’s like a bully, and it pushes the zinc away.

What can you do? Dr. Kondrot tells listeners exactly what to do.

Microcurrent, Chelation and Light Therapies for Macular Degeneration

How does microcurrent work? It improves blood flow, stimulates cellular activity, can reduce scar tissue and has a neuroprotective effect. It makes the eye stronger and reduces inflammation. It does so many wonderful things.

What is the way to remove that elevated lead? It’s chelation therapy. It uses a molecule called EDTA, ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid. It’s a vinegar molecule stuck together, and it binds that lead and makes it water soluble.

What is light therapy? This is using a laser light that delivers a certain frequency of laser energy. This is not a laser like you saw in the James Bond movies where it cuts metal. This is a laser light which stimulates cellular activity.

Studies have shown that the laser light stimulates ATP, circulation and a lot of cellular mechanics. There was a study done in Germany that showed that the laser can reverse symptoms of macular degeneration and glaucoma.
