Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is an eye disorder which is responsible only for central vision loss. To learn what causes macular degeneration, let us first understand where does it exactly occur.

This vision blinding disease is caused when the human eye’s macula begins to erode or break down. What is macula? It is located in the center of the retina and contains the largest concentration of light-sensitive cells and cones.
