Avoid all artificial sweeteners!
According to research conducted by H. J. Roberts a diabetes specialist and member of the American Diabetic Assiciation, aspartame:
1) Leads to the precipitation of clinical diabetes.
2) Causes poorer diabetic control in diabetics on insulin or oral drugs.
3) Leads to the aggravation of diabetic complications such as retinopathy, cataracts, neuropathy and gastroparesis.
4) Causes convulsions.
“Aspartame sugar substitutes cause worrying symptoms from memory loss to brain tumors. But despite US FDA approval as a ‘safe’ food additive, aspartame is one of the most dangerous substances ever to be foisted upon an unsuspecting public”

Begin using Stevia as a sweetener
Stevia is an herb that grows wild in Paraguay and Brazil and can be grown in the United States. Stevia has been used for centuries as a sweetener and as medicine. It became very popular in Japan in the 1970s and continues to be used now. Statistics say that at present, Stevia accounts for 40 percent of the Japanese sweetener market. Stevia has no calories and no carbohydrates, and it can be used in cooking and baking. Studies done in Brazil have shown Stevia to lower blood sugar and blood pressure
Look into homeopathy
Homeopathy treats the person not the disease and can act as a catalyst to strengthen your body and help you and your diabetes One example of a chronic and serious problem shown by a controlled study to be effective treated by homeopathy is diabetic retinitis
(retinitis is a common complication of diabetes in which there is an inflammation of the retina causing impairment of sight, perversion of vision, swelling, discharge from the eye, and sometimes hemorrhages into the retina).
This double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study on 60 patients used Arnica 5c. The results of this study showed that 47% of patients given Arnica 5c experienced improvement in central blood flow to the eye, while only 1% of patients given the placebo experience this improvement. Further, 52% of patients given Arnica 5c experienced improvement in blood flow to other parts of the eye, while only 1.5% of those given the placebo experienced a similar degree of improvement.

Consider chelation therapy with EDTA
Results of the National NIH sponsored study called “TACT” Trial to Access Chelation Therapy showed that diabetes a 40% reduction in total mortality, a 40% reduction in recurrent MI, and about a 50% reduction in mortality. In my experience this is the number one therapy every diabetic should consider to preserve their health and vision. To find a chelation doctor near you
